Born and raised in Sacramento, CA – Adrian Jasper discovered her gift for writing at age five, when she began making up songs for sheer enjoyment. At six, she began writing short children's stories on her free time – and in fifth grade, penned a book that won her first place in the Project Picture Book Contest – titled ‘The Afro Contest’.

From adolescence through her early twenties, she would continue to write short children’s stories, but her songwriting aspirations were kept under wraps. Aside from writing adult-based poetry for mere self-expression – and children’s pieces - ironically, she was not a bit poetry fan. However, as the resurgence of spoken word grew increasingly popular, Adrian would overcome shyness and relent to hone her poetic skills to join the spoken word ranks – and begin to perfect her poetry like a true wordsmith.

She quickly adapted pieces to multiple genres with universal apeal, and has presented in various venues from political, cultural, children's, – and ultimately religious communities - to conduct spiritual and Islamic poetry presentations.

As fate would have it, she returned to explore her first “artistic love” in songwriting – and penned lyrics for a song titled ‘Springtime’ and 'Spread Thy Angels' for former Vienna Boys Choir/classical singer Ilon Griffin.

She is the Secretary of COSVIO (Council of Sacramento Valley Islamic Organizations), and is wrapping up her Bachelor of Arts in English, at National University.

Adrian’s artistic life is always elevating and transforming. She has started Adrian Jasper Publishing to promote her creative endeavors for poetry and song to promote Islamic culture in universal form.
